What part of UNESCO are the World Heritage Sites?

With the World Heritage Sites, UNESCO aim to highlight the important cultural and/or natural sites worldwide of ‘Outstanding Universal Value’.

These can be significant architectural, cultural, heritage or natural importance which are important to that generation, the country or worldwide significance

*As of July 2021, there are a total of 1,154 designated World Heritage Sites (897 cultural, 218 natural, and 39 mixed properties) spanning across 167 countries.
